Our Mission
At Sit At The Equi-Table, our mission is to ensure that individuals with food allergies, regardless of their background, race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, have access to the latest and most effective therapies. How do we accomplish this? Through relentless advocacy. We address root causes by fighting for legislation that mandates proportional representation of underserved and minority groups in government funded clinical trials, ensuring they are fair and inclusive.
Additionally, we advocate for increased NIH funding to impact the specific root causes of health inequities in the fight against food allergies. This includes implementing systems to remove systemic biases that affect access to therapies, and developing strategies to close the gaps in care for underrepresented communities. By supporting targeted research and policy change, we aim to create a healthcare system that acknowledges and rectifies these disparities.
We also demand that Congress pass legislation mandating epinephrine injectors in schools and on airplanes to overcome health disparities and cost barriers that may prevent individuals from carrying their own epinephrine injectors.
Furthermore, we work to provide education and resources to empower communities, giving them the knowledge and tools to address food allergies effectively.
We will never stop fighting for food allergy equity in healthcare and will work tirelessly to advance this cause because we know that the alternative is not an option. Living in fear and being denied access to life-saving treatments is not something anyone should have to endure. We are committed to creating a healthcare environment that is just and accessible for all.
Together, we can create a world where everyone has a seat at the table (an Equi-Table).

Founder and President
Sit At The Equi-Table, Inc.
I founded Sit At The Equi-Table, Inc. having lived with food allergies my entire life. I know all too well the anxiety and restrictions that come with managing these allergies daily. Navigating social situations, school, playing sports, traveling, attending birthday parties, and daily meals can be stressful when a simple mistake could result in everything from an allergic reaction to life-threatening anaphylaxis.
I have been privileged to have access to quality doctors, life-saving epinephrine injectors, and novel therapeutics like Palforzia®. This access has not only protected me but has allowed me to live a fuller life, with less anxiety about the constant dangers posed by food allergies. Unfortunately, not everyone has this privilege. Many of our brothers and sisters in underserved communities suffer from food allergies but lack access to adequate therapies due to systemic inequities. Even when therapies are available, they may not be accessible for various reasons. True equity means recognizing and addressing these disparities to ensure everyone has fair access to the food allergy care they need.
